HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-11-16-TSC-min-001.pdf @lohm of Tiexingtan, 4Mussttthusetts .0 y' ' MEMORANDUM 1 ) TO: Margery M Battin, Chairman t( DATE. 11/18/77 PAGE: /"- Board of Selectmen FROM: John J McSweeney, Chairman SUBJECT' MASON STREET Traffic Safety Committee I' \ \sc1 At its meeting of November 16, 1977, the Traffic Safety Committee discussed the request from the Pleasant Brook Association for a painted centerline on Mason Street It was noted by the Committee that Mason Street is a minor street and that the Town does not make a practice painting centerlines on i minor streets It was further noted that during the summer of 1975, I "SLOW CHILDREN" and curve signs were installed on Mason Street We $ believe that these signs constitute more than adequate warnings to motorists of children in the neighborhood and the alignment of the roadway For these reasons, the Committee voted to recommend that the re- quest be denied. In addition, we once again would like to state that it is the parents' responsibility to see to it that their children do not play on the street.
