The seventh and final meeting of the Patriots' Day Committee was held at the Town Office Building on Thursday, April 26th, with all members of the Committee in attendance, namely, Eugene H Partridge , Chairman, John E. Giloreast , A. Randall Soderberg, and James H. Russell. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Partridge at 7 30 P.M. and the following bills were approved for payment out of the Town appropriation: Ball and Ball for printing 4000 four page programs - 430.00 Ball and Ball for printing 300 refreshment tickets - 1.50 Partridges' , for supplies for the Scout breakfast - 10.02 Lillian Holman, for preparing Scout breakfast and washing dishes - 4.00 Partridges' , for coffee , sandwiches , doughnuts , cheese , paper plates and paper cups for refreshments for musical organizations - 53.15 Raymond A. Crawford , for services rendered to the Patriots' Day Committee - 14.00 Waverly Hardware Co. Inc. for brass brads - .25 Lexington Band for services renaered in parade and for music for afternoon concert - 65.00 Lexington Drum Corps for servicew for parade - 40.00 Charles Moloy, for services rendered to Committee - 5.00 U. S. Poet Office, for postage stamps - .58 Zader S. Sherman, for services rendered to Committee and for reimbursement for money expended for regalia for "Spirit of ' 76" - 10.00 Elinor Moakley, for stenographic services - 7.00 $240.50 A previous amount had been expenaed by the Committee of 49.50, making total expenditures of 4250. , being the same amount as the appropriation. The Committee was informed by the Clerk that the total amount collected from flag donations was $120, and the follow- ing bills were approved by the Committee for payment from such special fund. 0. H. Batchelder & Co. for 24 flag outfits - !199.60 Allen Bros. Corp. for 24 brass plates 12100 Aexington Trust Co. for Federal tax on three checks - .06 U. S. Post Office for postage stamps - .84 F. D Norwood for decorating reviewing stand - 7.50 Total 0.20.00 - 2 - The Committee instructed the Secretary to write letters to the out of Town organizations which took part in the parade thanking them for their partidipation. The Secretary wqs also instructed by the Committee to prepare a Committee Report to be submitted to the Bra of Selectmen. The Secretary was further instructed to transmit to the Selectmen, the complete correspondence file , together with paid vouchers covering disbursements out of the special flag fund, so that such file dould be retained by the Selectmen and be available to the Patriots' Day Committees to be appointed in subsequent years. The Committee voted its thanks to James H. Russell for his services as Secretary, and Chairman Partridge also expressed his thanks to each member of the Committee for the assistance which they had rendered and the active interest which each had taken in the Committee activities. The Secretary read a letter which had been received from K. Claudine Foster expressing the appreciation of Comrade Wm. B. Foster of the Grand Army of the Republic in being able to listen to the musical organizations which passed his house on April 19th. Miss Foster in her letter stated that Mr. Foster was very grateful that the Committee could route the parade by his house although he could not reach the window to personally view the organizations as they went by. The Secretary also read a letter received from Robert P. Trask, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen expressing the appreciation of the Board for the celebration carried out by the Committee on April 19th. Mr Trask, in his letter, particularly expressed appreciation for the flag display in front of the Cary Memorial Building. The meeting adjourned at 7 50 P.M. Respectfully submitted.
