Virtual Meeting MINUTES
November 6,2024
Members Present(12 members; no vacancy): Glen Bassett, co-chair; Linda Dixon; Dave Grabel;
Yifang Gong; Cerise Jalelian; Sondra Lucente; Lorain Marquis; Geetha Padaki, co-chair; Sandy
Podgorski; Sue Stering; Karen Tyler(Veterans Liaison). Absent: Mary Hutton. Quorum; 7Fu11

Subcommittee Members Present(15 members; 5 vacancies): Sudha Balasuryan, Gresh Lattimore,
Jamie Lee,Ashley Rooney, Pam Winters. Absent: Steve Cole, Bonnie Karshbaum, Mirela Vaso,
Perla Walling-Sotolong, Huma Wasim, Hong Xie.

7:00 PM Geetha called the meeting to order, then Glen presided.
7:08 PM Minutes of October 23,2024,approved as submitted.
Veterans Day Car Parade/Jamie
- Ready to go. About 35 Veteran cars have been registered.
- Parade starts at the Community Center/Masonic Museum. Committee members working there
are asked to bring buckets, rags, and window soap. Scouts will help.
- Parade will end at St Brigid's Church, off Mass Ave. Glen will send his Parade map to Cerise.
- Lorain will ensure that Keilty Hall is available for Veterans. Glen will bring donuts and cider.
- LexMedia may attend and interview Veterans.
Morning of Veterans Day at 9:30 am: TCC members invited to change the calendar at Town Hall.
Veterans Breakfast DEBRIEF(November 7)
- Lorain: Strong attendance with 140-160 Veterans and guests. Our list contains 400 Veteran names.
Jamie was the perfect host of the proceedings!
- Sandy wondered if the K of C sound system could be used, rather than lugging around the Town's
outdated system.
- Pam wondered if the Invocation Prayer could be more religiously inclusive going forward.
Patriots'Day 2025/Dave
- CONFIDENTIAL: Grand Marshal recommendation (unanimously approved by TCC) is Charlie
Price! TCC will recommend that the Select Board approve this choice. NOT TO BE PUBLICISED

- 52 parade units have signed up. 125 units of past participants have all been initially contacted. A
small group (Glen, Lorain, Gresh, and Sue)will be given lists of units who haven't responded and
coordinate this information with Dave. Our December 1 Deadline is firm.
- Pam is coordinating a possible flyover by Air National Guard.
- Navy Regional Band in on board! Additional bands are sought.
Lex250 Update/Suzie
- The 250th Commission has a budget through July 2026—fundraising has an ambitious goal.
- All public relations is being handled by the PR firm,JPGR.
- Army units are being asked to participate. West Point Band is attending. How many Army bands
can be in the same parade is yet to be determined.
- Ticketing is Lex250's responsibility.
- Might the Village Group dealerships be interested in sponsoring a float?
- More volunteers are needed. Suzie stated that Volunteer Training will be required (Sat, Jan 11, 4
hours)
Dance Around the World
- Has a bi-annual budget of$5,000.
- Ashley wondered if further donations should be sought.
- Town Manager must sign all contracts.
