HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-11-20-BOH-min (Tri Ton Coalition Advisory Board) Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Burlington.Lexington.Wilmington Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Meeting Meeting Minutes November 20, 2024 2:00 PM Via Webex Attendees: Susan Lumenello, Director Burlington Board of Health, Joanne Belanger, Director Lexington Board of Health, Shelly Newhouse, Director Wilmington Board of Health, and Katie Capobianco, Shared Services Coordinator I. Approval of Minutes • Approval of September 18, 2024 meeting minutes - approved. II. Staff Positions • Community Outreach Worker—Juliana is working on a hoarding manual and once it is completed it will be sent to Joanne and Shelly for their review. Juliana will be holding hoarding training for First Responders. Joanne would like her to do the presentation in Lexington for the PD and FD. She is also working on a Community Preparedness presentation. • Communications Specialist—Nissa is working on a protocol on communication. She will be setting up a schedule to take requests for PHE staff to fulfil work requests from all three communities. Nissa can then see who is available to fulfil the request. Joanne likes the idea of staff(Mostly Alicia and Kellianne) going through Nissa to schedule work. She would like to have Leigha start helping with shelters in Lexington. Joanne will talk to Kellianne about setting up a flu/Covid vaccine clinic possibly on 12/15/24. Nissa will provide a list of what each staff member is able to do. For example: CPR, Stop the Bleed, Hoarding Training, etc. Joanne would like to see Narcan Training. Leigha can be trained to do Narcan Training. • Public Health Nurse—Leigha has started working and her hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30 to 2:30. She could potentially be in Lexington or Wilmington one full day a week if needed. Lexington has ongoing Opioid meetings every four to five weeks on a Thursday at 9:30 am. Leigha could attend those meetings and Joanne will add her to the invite list. Shelly will send Susan and Nissa the Substance Abuse Opioid monthly meeting information. They take place on Wednesdays at 10:00 am. • Nissa, Juliana and Leigha would like to set up a day to meet the staff in Lexington and Wilmington. A Monday between 10:00 and 2:00 would work best to schedule for all three to be able to attend. Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board Burlington.Lexington.Wilmington III. Program Updates • Website—Susan said the staff is working on creating a logo and trying to stay away from using the Public Health logo. Joanne and Shelly would like to see it more recognizable as a public health group and potentially use the Public Health logo. There are no pictures to use as of yet but Nissa will be going to events to get pictures. Joanne has a few of Rashod at the Narcan Training and will see if she can send them to Nissa. • Strategic Plan—Susan, Mike Greene and Katie all reviewed the RFPs and scored them. HRiA was selected and a contract has been sent to them. Currently waiting on HRiA to sign the contract. The project will be slightly behind the November timeline as it has not been signed yet. • BP Clinics —Leigha has been asked for some new ideas as to where to hold BP clinics. Shelly said her Wilmington Nurse is doing them. Joanne said she could use Leigha's help at the Wellness Clinic that is held once per month on Wednesdays at the Community Center. Nissa will reach out to Kellianne to add the clinic to regular reoccurring event requests such as STB, Narcan, etc. • MOB- the plan is to have Leigha become a coach through Lahey. Sandy will become a Master Trainer. Shelly said she would be interested in having her nurse take the MOB coach training through Lahey. Katie will ask Mike to reach out to her regarding the MOB training. Joanne will check with Kellianne if she is interested in becoming a coach. Leigha could potentially run a class in Lexington. • Fall Prevention Training—Leigha is looking into this training that would involve going to a person's home to assess the fall risks at home and providing potential resources that could help them like Minute Man Services. Shelly said that a former employee had done this training through Minute Man Services and they were able to get a grant to cover home help aids such as grab bars and non-slip rugs. • Mammography Van—Juliana is looking into setting this up but participants may need insurance to take advantage of this. IV. Tobacco Updates • Tahycha is on a reduced schedule until January. She is working on getting tobacco inspections done. • Susan will check with Tahycha about the compliance checks. • Joanne said she needs to get her tobacco regulations up to date. Alicia is currently working on it. V. New Business • The Hoarding Training is scheduled for February 25, 2025. Katie will re-send the information to Joanne and Shelly. • Next meeting is December 18, 2024. Meeting Adjourned at 3:00 pm.
