Bayley, presiding There were present Messrs . Clapp, Kane, Blake, Merriam, Briggs, Scamman, Wheeler, Richards and Glidden Owing to the absence of the Secretary, Mr Glidden was elected Secretary pro tem. It was unanimously VOTED. that the Committee on Indoor Entertain- ments be authorized to incur an expense amount- ing to Six Hundred Dollars ($600. ) in connec- tion with the dinner to be given to the returned soldiers After considerable discussion it was unanimously VOTED.that the above vote be reconsidered. After further discussion it was VOTED. that the Welcome Home Committee give a dinner and entertainment to the Lexington men returned from Service , and that a sum not to exceed $600. be appropriated therefor. The matter of a place in which to hold the dinner was discussed, and it was unanimously VOTED. that the whole matter of the dinner be left to the discretion of the Committee on Indoor Entertainments. The question of the outdoor celebration on June 17th was discussed, and it was unanimously VOTED.that the vote which heretofore set the date as June 17th be reconsidered. - 2 - It was then unanimously VOTED. that the date for the outdoor celebration be set for Saturday, June 14, 1919. The Chairman brought forward the question of providing a place for the returned soldiers to congregate instead of gathering upon the street corners, and it was unanimously VOTED.that the matter of conferring with the Historical Society about providing quarters at the Bucknam Tavern and upon its grounds as a rendezvous for returned soldiers and sailors be referred to the Committee on Indoor Entertainments with full power The meeting was adjourned at 10 40 p M.
