Minutes of Meeting
October 10, 2024

Members Present: Linda Dixon, Chair; Avram Baskin, George Gamota, Liz Huttner, Nick
Wong.
Members not present: Glen Bassett, Leslie Masson, Mirela Vaso.
Guests: Bill Poole and Regina Sutton, volunteer workers.
Business
Chair Linda opened the meeting at 4:05 and declared that a quorum was present.
The minutes of the meeting of June 6, 2024, August 22, 2024, and September 12, 2024 were
approved on a roll call vote.
Monument Proposal Update
Linda reported that Donor Howard Wolk, Lex250 representative Barry Cunha, and
representatives of the Donor Group were meeting with the Historic Districts Commission at this
same time, and would not be available to meet with the Monuments Committee today.
Database Progress
Linda announced the good news that Judy Baldasaro has returned to her job in the Lexington IT
department and is available to work with the M&M Committee on entering new monument
descriptions in the database.
The group discussed progress on various writing assignments. Avram has completed his
writeups and will send them to Linda. Regina and Linda toured Cary Hall, and Regina is
working on writeups for several statues and paintings. George Gamota is using Chat GPT as an
aid to convert bullet-point statistics of World War II fallen service members into narrative text.
Selecting a Date for Lex250 Calendar Page Turning
The group agreed that a Saturday morning was the most convenient time to meet in front of the
Lex250 Calendar for a ceremonial page-turning photo shoot. Linda will work with
Communications Director Jonas Miller to find an available date.
The meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m. Next meeting: November 7, 2024.
