HomeMy WebLinkAbout1941-11-18-LCPS-min.pdf LEXINGTON COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY November 18, 1941 A regular meeting of the Lexington Committee on Public Safety was held in the Town Office Building on Tuesday evening, November 18, 1941 at A 00 P M Chairman Putne- , Messrs Sands, Rucker, Tarbox, Warren, Adams , Webb, Person, Clifford, Mrs Mayo and Mfrs Kimball were present Mr Sands moved that a member of the local Red Cross , designated by the head of the Lexington Red Cross , be apnointed a member of the Execut ve Committee of the Lexington Committee on Public Safety Mr Adams seconded the motion, and it was so voted Mrs Kimball appointed Mrs Robert Mayo to represent the Lexington Red Cross at meetings of the Executive Committee Mr Rucker noved that the appointment of Mrs Mayo be apnroved Mr Sands seconded the motion, and it was so voted Mr Rucl-er moved that the matter of Red Cross Lits be referred to the proper division and reported to this Committee not later than December 9 , 1941 Mr Adams seconded the motion, and it wa, so Yoted Mr Person moved that Mrs Mayo, Dr Crumb and himself discuss the matter and report Mr Adams seconded the motion, and it was so voted Mr Webb reported that the Auxiliary Police Department is in need of q10 00 for the maintenance of the shooting range. Mr Rucker moved that the sum of `y' 10.00 be approved for the Auxiliary Police Mr Sands seconded the motion, and it was so voted Mr Tarbox requested that he be relieved of his position on this Committee a., he feels there is not sufficient work now to take up his time Mr Adams moved that this matter be laid on the table for at least one month Mr Sands seconded the motion, and it was so voted. Mr Sands informed the Committee that absolutely nothing has been done relative to Gas Decontamination. Mr. Putney reported that Mr Parley requested him to wait on insignias Mr Rucker moved that the Public Information Division have charge of designing identification cards for each division. Mr Person seconded the motion, and it was so voted Mr Rucker reported that the Chairman of the Board of Selectmen explained to him about the Moreland Avenue Section, and requested Ihim to present this to the hxecutive Committee again for action The Committee feels that this problem belongs to some civic organization and not to the Committee on Public Safety Mr Rucker moved that the Chairman be authorized to write a letter to the Boa:d of Selectmen that the original standing taken b,r this Committee relative to the mabber has not chanted Mr Adams seconded the motion, and it was so voted. Mr Sands moved that Divisions 1 and 2 have separate rooms in the Adams School and also have two separate tele- phones Mr Rucker seconded the motion, and it was so voted The meeting adjourned at 10 40 P M. l
