NEW TOWN OFFICE BUILDING COMMITTEE
NOVEMIUR 8, 1927
A meeting of the New TownOffice Building Committee was held
at the Selectmen' s Office at 8:00 P.M Messrs . Custance,Billard,
Robertson, Burnham Chamberlain, Hooper, itiiaddison, and Nary were
present. The Cler& was also present.
It was voted to approve the bill of Joseph S. Greenwood
of 260 Tremont Street, Boston, general contractor for the Town
Office Building, in the amount of $11,398.50 same being certificate
#1 Serial #4125 same being first payment on contract of $75,698.
and leaving a balance of $64,299.50.
The Committee voted to authorize the Chairman to sign the
orders for additional work on the Town Office Building The Chair-
man signed the following orders, Order #3462 dated November 3, 1927
for contract to Joseph S. Greenwood - omit manhole outside of
building and add a running trap inside of building, all according
to local by-laws and regulations, cost $75 (Deduction) .
Order #3464 November 5, 1927, Joseph S. Greenwood - for extra exca-
vation foundation concrete and reinforcing steel as per revised plans,
cost $686 (Additional)
Mr. Maddison reported that he had investigated the Detroit
Fidelity Co surety company on the Greenwood bond, and found that
they were a responsible company
The Committee voted to request the Selectmen to place $10,000.
fire insurance on the new town office building and request them
to watch the progress of the building in regard to placing insur-
ance.
The Committee signed the contract between the Automatic
Sprinkler Corp of America of 141 Milk Street, Boston, and the
Town to install a dry automatic sprinkler system for the Lexington
Town Office Building. This contract to amount to $2,549.00•.
Letter was received. from the Toni Accountant which showed
the contracts in connection with the New Town Office Building
to the total amount $108,585 55
Albert A, Ross, Supt of Water and Sewer Dept , reported the
price of $225.00 on 6" pipe connection to the New Town Office
Building providing Mr. Greenwood would do his own digging, and
$70 00 fcr 2" pipe. This is in connection with the sprinkler system.
It was suggested that a Town Meeting he held on Dec 8, 1927 .
