The meeting was called to order at 74 P M
Those present were Julian Bussgang, Frank DiGiammarino, Leo
McSweeney, Stella Liu, Theodore Mairson, William Spencer, Sidney
Whiting and Phyllis Wilner
Bussgang suggested that the letter from Ferris required an
answer After some discussion it was the spirit of the meeting that
the Chairman should write a letter to Ferris and the Selectmen
should write a letter supporting the Committee s action Both
letters should be friendly
It was also agreed that we should request a demonstration of
the capability for " communication between the I 'Net and the
residential system " It was moved, seconded and voted that Liu
should take the initiative for this demonstration
Bussgang also raised questions about the performance bond, hut
no conclusions were drawn
The matter of installation of an additional institutional drop
at School Headquarters was discussed Cablevision has set a price
(
on doing this Mairson suggested that it is really covered by the
license (see Final License, Section 21A - Institutional Trunk )
Additional connections along the constructed institutional
system will be available as the need arises
There was some consideration of the services which might be
required of Peter Epstein The conclusion was that he need not be
present at any of the scheduled meetings, but that he should be
alerted to a probable need for his services around 4 January
There was much discussion of how we should proceed The
consensus was that^ e: cept for the letters and the demonstration
discussed above, there would be no attempt to deal directly with
Cablevision The period from now until after the hearing will be a
time for fact gathering and evaluation After the hearing a conci.oe
report will be prepared for the Selectmen, describing what has
happened and summarizing any issues and actions which may require
attention
The ne) t meeting will be held at 4 00 PM on 4 January 19p0 in
Room J8 at the Le: ington High School
