Regular business was suspended until the September 19, 1996 regular meeting. This meeting called specifically for vote on recommendation to the Board of Selectmen on the renewal of the license proposed which will be submitted to them tonight. Discussion centered on wording changes and definitions in the license draft and now `final' version. Compromises were made. Very creative work and wording by Epstein on level playing field language which was accepted by Cablevision. Page 19,4-14 in particular was a compromise. Kanter felt that AIR could make a unilateral decision re costs of installation and the Town of Lexington would have no recourse. His concerns were understood and go into the record. PEG `substantially programmed' wording is up to interpretation but Cablevision programming on PEG access channel will be tagged as requested. Kanter moved that the Committee present this license to the Selectmen with a recommendation that it be signed. The motion was seconded and passed. A resolution was presented for the record that"Caleb Warner and the Negotiation Team as a whole be commended and thanked for the wonderful job that they have done throughout this license renewal process. The resolution was affirmed by all present. Ellis reported briefly on the meeting with Nynex where they divulged that they are offering a new service to their employees,as a test group,in the fall. If successful there is the possibility of offering to everyone in the Spring. (It is Phase I.) Ellis will expand explanation at Sept. 19 meeting. Nynex will do a full follow-up presentation when all marketing issues are decided.
