The primary responsibility of the CABLE TV AND CCMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY
COMMPia:htis.
To advise the Board of Selectmen on all matters relating to the use
of the Lexington CATV Cable as a means of communications within and
outside of the Town of Lexington, and
To oversee the performance of the franchisee against the terms of
the grant.
Such OVERSIGHT shall include the following.
Review of reports on revenues and expenditures, complaint
experience and local origination.
Coordinate the use of the Institutional Cable.
Hold public hearings, scheduled as appropriate, but approximately
once a year to receive public comments and permit public discussion
of cable TV services.
Facilitate the efforts of the Lexington Public Schools, Cary
Library, Town bodies, community service groups, and individuals to
optimize the uses of cable TV and the educational, public access
and local origination programming
Represent Lexington and participate in the activities of
appropriate regional, state and national organizations dedicated to
promote and improve community cable TV services Monitor cable TV
developments and review potential alternative approaches to the
service and their application to Lexington.
Report annually to the Board of Selectmen on cable TV services and
issues in Lexington and the activities of the Committee.
The CABLE TV AND COMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY COMMIrrEh shall be composed of
not less than five (5) nor more than nine (9) members. Each member
shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years Terms shall be
staggered. Membership should include representation frau key user
groups in the Town, e.g schools, libraries, service groups.
