MINUTES OF APRIL 6, 1995
Attending Bussgang, Cunha, Ellis, Gharibian (chair) , Longcope,
Lucas, Mairson, McSweeney, Schoman, Spencer, Triessl, Warner Joe
Magno as Cablevision's representative
Minutes of last meeting were amended to replace "level playing
field" with "fair treatment" Passed as amended
Bussgang reported that FCC had just found the letter he sent in
October appealing rise of rates Since it is now beyond 30 days it
is unactionable
Mairson reported that Eph Weiss is collecting town meeting member
e-mail addresses Distribution lists can be formed Uniformity in
search terms is a goal for Lexington gopher
Steve Ellis was welcomed as the committee's newest member
McSweeney addressed Article 19 on the Warrant The Selectmen will
support the request for $10,900 for a full Internet connection It
was voted that the Committee, through Cunha, will propose an
amendment to include $15,000 for personnel for network design and
planning
Lucas reported on status of license renewal, including advice from
attorney Peter Epstein Committee, working from the document
labeled "4th Rough Draft" , discussed value of including wording
from original license and reiterated its previous position that the
license is an incomplete statement of the agreements between the
Town and Adams Russell Critical consideration is the length of
the contract Epstein suggests wording of 5-10 years There was
considerable positive sentiment with 7 years with a 3 year option
Issues of Local origination and access were discussed Magno said
that may town have the headend in the schools Mairson wishes to
include terms for a maintenance contract on the ethernet bridges
Next meeting is scheduled for May 4th at 5 30 in G-15
Meeting was adjourned
