Present: Superintendent Paul Ash, School Committee Chair Tom Diaz, School Committee
Members Helen Cohen, Rod Cole and Margaret Coppe. The minutes were taken by Leora Tec.
L Call to Order and Welcome (Tom Diaz)
IL Members' Reports /Members' Concerns
III. Discussion:
1. Second Progress Report of the Schools' Financial Review Committee: This report was
presented by Financial Review Committee member Bob Goodreau. It will be presented at
Town Meeting.
2. Parent Responses to Full- and Half-Day Kindergarten: There were 245 responses. 197
parents expressed an interest in full day kindergarten, 38 in half day and 6 in private
kindergarten. This was for planning purposes only and not everyone returned the survey.
On May 1 we will know how many half day kindergartens there will be.
3. Article 4
The Committee discussed how the Article would be presented at Town Meeting.
4. Article 24
Motion to support the motion under Article 24 establishing special stabilization
funds (Cohen, Coppe). The passed 4-0.
5. Article 8
Motion to support the motion under Article 8 (Cole, Coppe). The motion passed 4-0.
IV. Motion to recess and reconvene at the chair's request at Town Meeting (Cohen, Coppe).
The motion passed 4-0.
