Present: Superintendent Paul Ash, School Committee Chair Tom Diaz, School Committee
Members Helen Cohen, Margaret Coppe, Tom Griffiths and Ravi Sakhuja. The minutes were
taken by Leora Tec.
L Call to Order and Welcome (Tom Diaz)
II. Public Comment
Mary Ann Stewart (precinct 1): Attended forum on stress and youth. Stress reducing
techniques in high school classes.
Dawn McKenna: I saw four members of the School Committee in a meeting; this may be
against the open meeting law.
Tom Diaz: This was a duly posted Executive Session.
III. Members' Reports /Members' Concerns
Gabe Schonfeld: I attended Winterfest. I encourage you all to attend next year.
IV. Discussion:
FY09 Budget Discussion
Peter Keegly (Follen Road): Full day K.
Pamela Thaimes (North Hancock Street): Full day K.
Lisa Hebert: METCO funding of full day K.
Cindy Snell: Fees for full day K.
Phyllis Neufeld (LEA President): Urged the Committee not to cut teachers.
The Committee and several members of the public discussed the budget.

Public hearing to discuss full day kindergarten will be Saturday February 9`h at 10:00 am in
the Selectman's meeting room.
V. Action Items:
Vote to Implement Recommended Adjustment to the Fee Waiver Guidelines
Motion to Implement Recommended Adjustment to the Fee Waiver Guidelines (Sakhuja,
Griffiths). The motion passed 5-0.
VI. Motion to Adjourn (Sakhuja, Griffiths). The Motion passed 5-0.
