Attending: CAC• Jane Gharibian, Steve Ellis, Miriam Boucher, Dave Buczkowski, Bill Kofoed, Tim Counihan, Dave Becker, Jeanne Krieger, Maria Kieslich, Connie Rawson, Jeanne Canale Comcast: Jane Lyman Guests: Jim Baker, Jack Cunha, Jim Akimchuk Minutes from April 15 CAC meeting were approved. Jeanne Canale was elected as chair by unanimous vote Miriam Boucher reviewed presentation on LCMC for Selectmen's Meeting of May 24 Also, the LCMC implementation plan was reviewed and discussed. Two motions approved: 1 That the CAC recommend Rika Welsh services be used to facilitate Board of Convenor process 2. That the CAC recommend the Selectmen approve the formation of the Lexington Media Center Jane Gharibian introduced Jim Akimchuk who will be working as project manager for the media center setup process. Comcast report— Jane Lyman Comcast is testing voice over IP phone service in western MA. Expected rollout in rest of state is expected within a year Signal qualtiy for access channels discussed Comcast recommends waiting on upgrade of sound system for Selectmen's meeting room pending resolution of system problems. Comcast is working on a response to the renewal RFP Becker and Lyman had frank exchange of views on Comcast's initial renewal proposal. Jane Gharibian reported that RCN did a great job on TM coverage. No complaints were received in previous month for RCN. D 2 complaints were received regarding Comcast. One complaint concerned request for excessive information during service call. Second complaint concerned sales tax. Miriam Boucher attended TMMA communications sub-committee meeting and briefed them on media center plans. No new antenna applications were filed during the past month. Form 100 discussion was tabled until June due to DTE's recent request for comments. Connie Rawson reported on problems with contacting RCN network operations center after a fire interrupted service to Bowman School. Local RCN personnel provided assistance in obtaining service. Jane Gahribian has sent e-mail to RCN requesting updated contact info. Jim Baker reported on has less than satisfactory experiences with Comcast after 2 outages in 11 days in his neighborhood, Homestead Street.
