HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-08-12298 SELECTMEN t S MEDT ING , August 12, 1940. A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the Solectmen's Room, Town Office Building, at 4150 P.Y. Chairman Giroux, and Messrs. Saran and Potter were present. The Clerk was also present. The Clerk was instructed to call a meeting of the Ambulance committee appointed to establish rales and regulations committee for the use of the ambulance for Thursday evening, Aug- ust 15 at 8100 P.M. Mr. Beach appeared before the Board. The Chairman Complaint told him that he had received a complaint that the W.P. res W.P. A. men working on the North Hancock Street drain were A. mene using bad language, etc. He requested Mr. Beach to talk to the men about the complaint. Letter was received from Chief Edward W. Taylor suggesting that the following equipment.be purchased for the sambulance t Short Wave Radio Receiving Set ' 1 Loader Light ever Rear Door No 1 First Aid Kit 4 Rubber Sheets 72" x 108" 12 Bed Sheets 45" x 90" 12 Pillow Cases 4 Feather Pillows- 18" x 28" 6 All Wool Blankets 60" x 80" (singles) 12 Huck Towels 12"_ x 18" 12 Face Cloths 12" 6 Bath Towels 22" x 44" The Chairman said that he had talked to the Town Accountant about these supplies, and it had been decided that they could be paid for from the Unclassified Account. Supplies It was decided to purchase all of the supplies, with the for am- exception of the short wave radio set and the loader light bulance over the rear door, and to charge the expense to the Unclassified Account. The Chairman said that James Guthrie used to be in charge of the welfare crew and was paid fifty cents per hour. Mr. Guthrie had been ill, but is now able to return. Mr. Potter moved that Mr. Guthrie be returned to his former position at the same rate of pay. Mr. Sarano seconded the ' and it was so voted. 1 u 299 A letter was received from Metcalf & Eddy recommend- ing the issuance of a change order on Contract B., (Sal- vuccl contract) Vine Brook Drainage Project, granting an Change extension of time for the completion of the work included order* In the contract, of 240 calender days. Mr. Raymond recommend- ed that the change order be approved. Mr. Potter moved that the change order be approved and signed. Mr. Saran seconded the motion, and it was so voted.
