August 10, 1940.
A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held
In the gakage of'P.g,,)dghh9 on at'1s35 P.M.` Chairman Giroux,
and Messrs. Potter, Rowse, and Sarano were present. The
Selectmen with a great deal of care, checked the specifica-
tions for the ambulance,
Upon motion of Mr. Sarano, seconded by Mr, Potter, it
as voted to appoint Mr. James H. Russell Clerk Pro-teale
finding that the ambulance met with the specifications,
Mr. Rowse moved that It be accepted. Mr. Potter seconded
the motion and it was so voted.
Upon motion of Mr. Rowse, seconded by Mr. Potter, it
was voted to authorize the Chairman to sign an order for
the ambulance at a total cost of $2243.50.
Upon motion of Mr, Rowse, seconded by,Mr. Potter, it
was voted that the Chairman be authorized to approve the
bill of F.K. Johnson, Inc, for the Town ambulanee'at
$2243.50,
Upon motion of Mr. Rowse, seconded by Mr. Potter, it
was voted to authorize the Chairman to sign United States
Internal Revenue Tax Exemption Certificate.
'I The Board discussed turning the ambulance over to the
Fire Department, and Mr, Johnson said that the Chief of
the Fire Department, Edward W. Taylor, had not yet secured
the plates. It was agreed that the Ambulance should be
left at Mr. Johnsonst garage until Thilroday, August 15,
and in the event that the ambulance should be needed, Mr,
Johnson agreed to furnish a driver and to use deklerfs
plates.
Chairman Giroux suggested that the doctors in town
be invited to be present at the final acceptance of the
ambulance on Thursday evening,
The meeting adjourned at 1s55 P.M.
