SELECTMEN'S MEETING
OCT . 11th, 1938.
A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen wag held
in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, at 7;30 P.M.
Chairman Giroux, Messrs. Ross and Potter were present.
The Town Treasurer, Mr. Carroll, appeared before the
Board and submitted bids for a $100,000.00 loan in antici-
pation of revenue as follows:
Lexington Trust Co. .34
R. L. Day Co. .47 Loan
Second National Bank .239
Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Co. .177
Merchants National Bank .35
Mr. Potter moved that the bid be awarded to the Boston
Safe Deposit & Trust Co. at their bid of .177% discount.
Mr. Ross seconded the motion and it was so voted.
The Board discussed the matter of street cleaning
program and the objections raised by Mr. Clark and Mr.
Rowse. Mr. Ross moved and Mr. Potter seconded the motion, Street
that the action taken by Mr. Giroux and Mr. Potter at the cleaning
special meeting held on Friday, October 7th, 1938, be
approved. It was so voted.
Mr. Potter moved, and Mr. Ross seconded the motion, that
the street cleaning program continue Thursday, October 13th,
pending a meeting of the entire Board on Thursday evening,
but that there be no street cleaning work on the holiday,
Wednesday, October 12th. It was so voted.
The Board signed a notice of intention to lay out the Layout
junction of Charles Street and Taft Avenue, for highway
purposes.
The meeting adjourned at 7:50 P.M.
