The meeting was balled to order by the Chairman,, Dr. Kassler,, "', at 7 50 p.M. , with Commis ion membOS Mr. dOhen and Mesdames "'nit Tr Frick, Pease and 'fnwls prsent, abawell as Associate Members 4 , 4, Dr. Friedman and :Maadames''"Nichols and Solomon. m The Commission we in executive session from 7 50 until 8:45. `" Committee to Discuss Land Acquisition met last Thurstay and Mrs. Frick attended. She reported that the various members of the a, Committee expressed differences in opinion on the purpose of the committee. Erik Clarke of the Planning Board presented a list of steps in land acquisition site evaluation, evaluation of cost, appraisals of cost, legal status, priority and negotie tions.I At the Committee meeting Mrs. Frick was asked to survey several nearby towns such as Wayland, Lincoln and Weston to see how they handle land acquisition. Questions on Wetlands and Conservation Restrictions were an- swered at the meeting of the Mass. Association of Conservation Commission Saturday, which was attended by Mesdames Nichols and Pease. It was discovered that conservation easement (restriction) goals may be in conflict with a town' s easements to clean and dredge brooks. The importance of cooperation between involved boards was stressed at the conference. Wetland was defined as land with water on it after a heavy rainfall or land where water fills the hole created when a shovel of dirt is removed. Wetland Zoning. Mr. Cohen mentioned that a case on the cost cf Wetland zoning is coming up in the Town of Dedham, which has a strict wetland zoning by-law. Mark Moore "Lexington Green" proposal. Mrs. Nichols reported that she had made inquiries of neighbors and former owners in the area. A member of the tropeano family who lives on Revere Street reported that most of the land on the Lexington Lumber side is dry, except for one low spot, and that the side on the other side of the tracks is wetter. The fact that the land dries out rapidly was noted, as was fear by members of the Tropeano family that development of the condominium complex might worsen neighborhood water problems. Mrs. Rosina Busa, who with her husband John formerly owned the triangle on the far side of the tracks, reported that the land has 2 feet of good ]cam for farming. The meeting was interrupted by election returns downstairs and finally declared adjourned at 10 00 p.m. , until Monday, March 13, at 7 45 p.m. Respectfully submitted, -"'�- �° - Secretary to the Commission MAY 17 1972
