Hatch Act. liecommendatioi that the DNR withhold permission `to fill in the Hartwell Avenue area and urge the Boston Edison Company to further explore suggested alternatives for this area `' sn` = or to seek another location, was VOTED by the Commission. Letter was mailed at 8:00 p.m. Enclosures were a soil map drawn by Mrs. Nichols and the Board of Health letter signed by Mr. "ambie.l Budget. Dr. Kassler announced that a budget of $1900 ($200 less 1 than the Commission had recommended) is proposed by the Appropria- tions Committee. Commission members agreed the Commission could probably live with this. Ponding required to replace water storage capability removed by the building of the new Clarke Junior. High School, has been re- ported in a letter from the Permanent Building Committee-. They hope to be able to locate the pond on conservation land and will be in touch with the Commission on specifics. • Meek-Hill Option request to the Board of Selectmen will be pre- pared by Mr. Cohen during the coming week. He reviewed condi- tions with the Commission. "Lexington Green"-Bedford Street. Reiterated that the Commission cannot take a stand. on the housing aspects of the proposal and will confine its official comments to the triangle recreation- conservation section. (At yesterday morning' s unofficial meeting of the Commission, Mrs. Nichols had stated that one of the pos- sible effects of the housing development would be either increased ` wetness in the Carol Land area or wet basements within the develop- ` ment itself, depending on levels of sills and amount of fill, etc. ) Article 82 As agreed by both Commission and Planning Board, the Commission' s support statement will be read by Mrs. Pease, who drafted it. A Meeting Saturday Morning with the Board of Selectmen and Plan- ning Board to discuss Commission and Planning articles was mentioned as a possibility, depending upon Town Meeting progress. Meetings in April tentatively set for Monday evenings April 3, 10 and 24 and Tuesday, April 18 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7 56,x, until Monday April 27 , at 7 30 p.m. , unless cancelled.
