„.,,Permanent Building Committee, are now conferring with DNR on
design and location of this pond, probably on conservation land.
Commission members noted that successful ponding is a difficult
achievement and asked if the DNR would provide specifications and
if it would be necessary to fence in the pond (and who would be
responsible for its upkeep and safety, etc. ) . The architects
will again be in touch with the Commission and there will be
further opportunity to ask questions.
Ashley. Dr. Kassler met with Selectmen Busa and Riff in and
Mr. O' Connell, with Mrs. . Ashley' s lawyer, Mr. Woron, in what
was apparently an inconclusive conference.
Letter of Recommendation on Hatch Act Hearing with Boston Edison
Co. will be sent to Tom Curran of the Minute Man, as Commission
members approved.
Article 82. Mrs. Pease stated that she is prepared to read a
statement at Town Meeting giving Commission' s approval for this
Planning Board article.
Lowell Street Flowage. In light of lack of information, the
Commission will not give approval for the Town to relinquish
flowage rights.
Porter Property. According to a recent conversation with Mr. Trop-
eano, Mr. Porter' s lawyer, it looks as if Mr. Porter will neither
agree on price nor agree to keep his property off the market for
a year so that negotiations can continue. Commission agreed un-
animously to present this article to Town Meeting, even if the
Selectmen should be opposed.
The meeting adjourned at 8 00 p.m. The next meeting Of the Com-
mission will be Monday, April 3, at 7 30 p.m.
