the Recreation Committee held last week. Members of the Committee
are now Messrs. Daniel Buse, Gallagher, Hayes, Sparrow and Werth-
heim. Tennis reservations and swim tags, beginning next week, will
be obtainable at a structure to be built near the central tennis
courts and swimming pool.
State and County Hospitals Property, It is understood that the
State and County are planning to dispose of some of their peri-
pheral land. The Belmont Conservation Commission has recommended
a joint Belmont-Lexington effort to obtain easements along the
Beaver (Clematis)Brook. Dr. Kassler will find out whom to con-
tact or write on the State level to request first consideration
for the Towns, and Mr. Cohen will inquire about contacts on the
county level (for possible connection between the Ballou and
Titelbaum parcels via Middlesex County Hospital property. )
Environmental Concern Committee meets tomorrow night.
Note of Thanks for efforts of Commission at Town Meeting has been
received from Hideo Sasaki.
A Horse Problem. A resident of 39 Robinson Road wrote the Com-
mission asking permission to use adjacent Town land (she called
"conservation land" ) as acreage for the keeping of two horses
(since her property does not have sufficient acreage for two horses) .
Reply (with copies to concerned Town bodies) will inform that the
land in question is Town-owned but not conservation, and that use
of Town land for horse-grazing might entail legal and other com-
plications.
Walking Permission Granted in a letter from Cape and Islands
