The Meeting was called to orderly the Chairman, Dr Kassler,

Information Meeting on Spring Street Wednesday, September 20..
VOTED to send letter to meeting, stating Commission' s policy
to preserve trees wherever possible, by meandering sidewalks
where feasible Preference expressed for narrower (than, 30
feet) roadway to lessen impact upon character of neighborhood

Filling Operations near Bow Street VOTED to report two fillings
to Board of Health in writing, both reported by neighborhood residents
(1) Trucks of Town of Arlington are delivering road chuncks in
to fill wet hol.S. on Cataldo Farm DNR reports no permit required
if land is to be farmed Inquiries will be made of Soil Conser-
vation Service (USDA) if asphalt is usable fill for farmland
Pictures were taken during a truck delivery (DW & LN)
(2) On other side of tracks junk has been and is being dumped
beside and into Sickle Brook (DW & HMK)
Foot Bridge over Vine Brook A Saddle Club Road resident has Writ-
ten Town asking to purchase the bridge so he can destroy it and
thus control traffic Letter to go to Selectmen recommending
Town not sell bridge or associated land until plans for footpaths
in the area have been established. (AEF)
Hill-Meek Option has been signed by Mr Hill, with expiration
midnight October 3, 1972, unless exercised before that time
DNR to be queried on application time-schedule (AEF & ESG)
Great Meadow The Joint Great Meadow Study Committee will meet citizen
with the Arlington Open Space Committee to discuss the/article
v, ., on the Warrant for the October 10 Arlington Town Meeting Mrs
Frick will read the Lexington Selectmen' s letter favoring leaving
the Great Meadow open and the letter from Mr Bellizia of Pine
Meadow Golf Club Lexington Selectmen reported waiting for re-
sults of Arlington Town Meeting (HMK,AEF,FF)
Boston Edison Co Draft letter to DNR on revised plans approved
with minor changes (MFR, GL)
Nursing Home for Grey Nuns Property is subject of October 3
Board of- Appeals hearing at 7 35 p m Commission representative
at hearing will urge conservation easement along Mass Ave (JF & MB)
