HomeMy WebLinkAbout1935-07-02 539 SELECTMEN'S MEETING JULY 2, 1935. A special meeting was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, Lexington, at 5:15 P.M. Messrs. Ferguson, Gilcreast and Potter were present. The Supt. of Public Works and the Clerk were also present. The Supt. of Public Works informed the Board that the Chevrolet car owned by the Police Department was badly in need of repairs and he thought that it would be economy Police if the Town purchased a new car at this time rather than Dept... car.. spend a large amount for repairs. He recommended the purchase of a new Chevrolet car and the Board voted to approve the recommendation. A supplementary E.R.A. project for the grading, landscaping and stonewall construction in Wood Street was Wood St. submitted. The total estimated cost of the project is *338&.50, of which the Town is to pay $397.90. Project. The Board voted to approve the project. An E.R.A. project was submitted to employ men to scout the shade trees of the Town looking for and II collecting diseased material for diagnosis at the Mass. E.R.A. State College Laboratory, with particular attention to the Shade tree elms. The total estimated cast of the project is $480. Project. which will be paid by the E.R.A. The Board voted to approve the project. The Board voted to grant a license to George W. Bean Bean to conduct his Golf Driving R&nge on July 7, 14, License. 21, and 28, 1935. Commitment of water rates in the amount of $5802.01 Commitment was signed by the Board. The Clerk reported that Mr . William J. Kenney, Deed, Attorney for Louis Palermo, had telephoned and stated Jan1Ini that the deed for the transfer of the Jannini property property. was acceptable to him and requested that the Board sign the deed and mail it to him. The Board signed the deed. The meeting adjourned at 5:30 P.M. A true record, Attest: Clerk.
