A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on December 223, 1933, at 9 P.1. Messrs. Trask, Gilereast, Ferguson, O'Connell and Lyons were present. The clerk was also pre- sent. The meeting was held owing the fact that a special election was held on this day to determine.whether or not licenses for the sale of liquors would be granted in this Town. The vote on the first question of the sale of all alcoholic beverages having been voted by the Town by a vote of seven and for the sale of malt beverages and wines having been voted by 119, the Board met to grant licenses so that the applicants would have an opportunity to get the Christmas trade. Applications were received from the following: John J. Rudd, 1845 Mass. Avenue Package goods Mrs. Philomena F. Pero, 12 Waltham St. Restaurant ' Fred S. Ormond, 7 Smith Avenue Package goods. Adolph Labes, 17 Woburn Street it 11 If tt A. Thomas Ferry, Columbia Street Ernest C. Martin, 1793 Mass. Ave. Druggist Joseph Trani, 1757 Mass. Ave. Package goods The Lexington Inn, 283 Mass. Ave. Restaurant Melvin L. Downing, 1786 Mass. Ave. 11 Edward Berman, 12 Mass. Avenue Package goods Lexington Fruit Co. Mass. Avenue it " Edgar Thivierge, 1620 Mass. Aire. Druggist The Board considered the matter of establishing fees for the licenses of various kinds, and voted to establish the fees as follows; - Drug Store licenses Package Store licenses - 300. Restaurant licenses for the sale r of all alcoholic beverages - 2000., Restaurant licenses for the sale of beer and wine only - 1000. Mr. Edgar Thivierge and Mr. Ernest C. Martin eamb be- fore the Board and requested that a reasonable fee be given to them for the sale of package goods owing to the fact ' that they did not believe that they had any advantage over the sale of package goods stores. They stated that persons 456 W �c applying for sales have to sign a book and they do not like ' to do this and they felt also that when orders are shipped they will be shipped from package goods storgs. They also stated that it was not their intention to display bottles in the window. It was voted to grant licenses to expire December 31, 1934. The various applications were considered, and it was voted to grant drug store licenses to Ernest C. Martin, and Edgar J. Thivierge. It was voted to grant package store licenses to John.J. Rudd and Joseph Trani. All ap�)licants are to file a$1000 bond in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Alcoholic Beverage Com- mission. A true record, Attest:- Clerl!�. 1
