Presentation
Belmont Savinas Bank.
Representatives from Belmont Savings Bank returned with a second proposal for
signage for their ATM machine at Marrett Square: A sign mounted by a bracket
at 90% to the building in order to maximize visibility Members of the DAC agreed
that the new smaller size of the lettering was more appropriate After various
ideas and comments from the members, the DAC recommended Belmont
Savings Bank to return with a third proposal: Mounting the letters in blue directly
on the existing white fascia, once on each side of the Marrett Road corner to
make it visible from Waltham Street as well. The proposed was deemed arrow
was unnecessary
Discussion
Betsy Whitman brought to our attention, that the so-called 'Betsy Whitman Fruit
Trees at Country Side have been cut down. Steve Hurley promised to speak to
the Board of Appeals about how to proceed.
Barbara Hulsizer mentioned her concern about a presentation by Kerry Brandin
of a proposed traffic island at the intersection of Franklin and Mariam Street
brought before the DAC in October 2000 Her concern was whether such an
island over time would indeed be maintained by the neighborhood as planned,
or would eventually become the responsibility (and burden) of the Town. Betsy
Whitman seconded her expression of concern.
