November minutes were approved.
2. Brief
• Battle Green Meeting 11/20/00
Steve Hurley and John Frey talked about the first Battle Green committee meeting on
improving architectural, and landscape elements of Lexington Green. The meeting was very
interesting and successful. Various proposals and ideas were discussed. Many groups in
town want to get actively involved in the Battle Green improvement project. The master
plan for the town center is desperately needed. The report on the summary of ideas and the
results of the vote on the most popular proposals will be published in 30 days.
• Emory Park/Depot Square
( Steve Hurley will follow up on the due date for the bids.
3. Presentations
• NexTel Communications
40 Hartwell Avenue
NexTel is seeking ZBA's approval for modifications to the special permit. NexTel is
proposing to install two HVAC units on the roof of the 30'x36' structure. DAC could not
issue a recommendation because no proposed elevations, unit dimensions and materials
were submitted. DAC recommended that NexTel comes back with more information on the
proposal.
• RCN — BeCo Corn
171-173 Bedford Street
RCN is applying for a variance for the emergency generator at Bedford Street that is already
in place. The generator is located closer then allowed to the property line. A 9' high
wooden fence encloses the generator
DAC recommended approval with the following comments:
• To keep the fence in place
• To plant low evergreen shrubs between Bedford Street and the fence, but without
surrounding the whole fence with the plantings
The next DAC meeting is on Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at 8:00 PM./
