Meeting was called to order at 8:05 by Stve Hurley The minutes were acclaimed to be outstanding! They also arrived at the Selectmen's office in good time for them to be circulated. American Tower and Pagenet Property near Met State. Brought to us was the green plastic fence, 20 x 10' brown building, with black roof, which we approved. Harrington Road was opened this evening, as we speak. Varian: Lynn Anne Dunne, "Adverbs", and Ken Egan, Facilities manager, presented a standing sign near the entrance, smaller and with new logo. Wall sign facing Hartwell Avenue shall have same font of type as their corporate logo Sign at Visitors' entrance will be 3' x10', with future illumination from sides, taking care not to "spill" light. They were asked to lower top of sign to just below level of lower roof line. This makes it relate to people. Starbucks: (60 Bedford Street - old Friendly's) Steven Del Rose, construction manager, and Dan Brennan, consultant, introduced their plans: an ADA curbcut to ADA parking spaces in lot, rest of sidewalk should have curb, wish to repaint, wish to keep three signs, replace dumpster enclosure, building to be a white paint, with Starbuck's cocoa coins. Suggestions from the DAC included: New door to parking lot be bordered by horizontal mullions; DAC did not like high roof sign, the triangular portico on Bedford St. to have a one-line sign, "Starbucks Coffee", cupola will have green top, pickets green, rest white; dump enclosure to have new fence. A honey locust "Shademaster" 3 1/2" c. tree was suggested for the patio Trinity Covenant Church. Alan Krup represented the chuch. It was recommended to use cut-off shielded, fixture; lower fixtures to 10' 100 w metal halite, V 2701 bulbs. This may make it possible to do the work by right. Wayside Florist: 62 Mass. Ave. Proposal for sign for dentist. Such sign exactly like sign which had been approved for florist. We had no color to consider (Our sketch was xeroxed) Gulf Oil: Marrett Rd. and Waltham St. Requested making gas price sign at corner from 3 rows of numbers into 1 row Height of letters would increase from about 12" to 18" This seems not minor as it affects an intersection which has been visually improving. This goes in the reverse direction. For safety, the Gulf station needs to have curbs at the center of the intersection. DAC would like to see street trees. Meeting adjourned at 10:10 p.m. Scribe: Betsy Whitman Next DAC Meeting on March 7, 2000, in room 111 at 8:00 p.m. r L
