Gateways:Entrance signs into Town were discussed. All seemed to agree that a
handsome sign at the Town line simply saying "Lexington" would he a goal. Steve
pointed out that we must be careful not to offend the owners of the present ones which
have a long history of service to the Town. Members were aware of this. How can we
enable both to co-exist.
Betsy asked why we could not put one on North St. (near the Middlesex Mall)where
there is none and no one else's turf. Kathryn suggested site near Brookhaven had no
sign also.
Karen Bechtel will join with Kathryn to work on the "Lexington" sign. Stacey said she
would tell the Planning Board of the discussion.
