Eva Heney Lexington Minute-Man Meeting:Called to order @ 8:00 P M. Approval of Minutes of February 10, 1998 approved as submitted I. Waldorf School,Mass.Avenue,John Ellis Architect reviewed school expansion to include 60 high school students. Located on Massachusetts Avenue, Waldorf plans to construct minor additions to the existing structure. Phase I shall include alterations to barn structure and construction of new elevator and stair and starting Phase II construction of new addition to house new classrooms. Phase Ill to possibly reconstruct one time existing porch.John Ellis is seeking DAC input for landscape transition between Waldorf School site and abutting residential property.John spoke of natural landscape solution i.e. use of field stone wall and minimum plant material due to existing landscape buffer area located on adjacent residential lot.DAC recommended to develop a detailed site plan indicating transition strategy, material,etc.prior to submitting to Board of Appeals for review and comment 2. Stop and Shop,Bedford Street.Jerry Frank,Bechtel,Ericson Frank Architects,Jim Sylvia, Stop and Shop, Frank Steman,Landscape Architect and Thomas Fenn,Attorney outlined proposed expansion/ addition and alterations to expand the existing Stop and Shop to include Brighams and Catalog Fashion Outlet as well as to add 3800 s,f The proposal wilt provide for landscape and exterior architectural modifications. DAC supported the efforts of Stop and Shop and suggests the project.wir, consider the following: -express the interior use bakery at Worthen Road corner more glass to express the bakery/café use possible one curb cut offlJedford Street delete two planting islands,incorporate into one island restudy arcade, reduce visual length with possible material brick, paving,planting,bcnchcs,etc. v 3 Sheraton Tara,Route 2A Bill JCavia of ABT Signs explained to DAC Stanwood Lodging has purchased all Sheraton Taraa in the New England area and is planning to delete 'Para' from all signs on site and maintain the existing signs Discussion focused on signage facing Route 95(128).The DAC recommended approval with the following suggestions;overall size shalt be 2 -0' high/ 12' 10' long with 6' projection from wall,red aluminum letters,back lit with halo lighting mounted on brick 4. Cary Library,Massachusetts Avenue John Frey updated DAC Board of appeals granted Cary Library variances. Next meeting with DAC/Library April 2, 1998 at Cary Library 5. Fletcher Avenue Parking Proposal: Steve Hurley briefed DAC Town is exploring methods to pave grass area in front of School Administration Building to create 30 0 parking spaces. Steve informed DAC Center Committee reviewed this proposal and recommended disapproval to the Selectmen and recommended a parking study be prepared to determine if need exists.Torn suggests before parking study done to review what we want the center to be,refer to Dixon Report, prepared 1996. s to
