Minutes of August 10 1993 were approved. Jan Spealman II. Lexington Ridge temporary construction signage - Committee comments -Temporary signage time table unknown - Committee views the sign as three signs not one. -Text /color / lighting / material unknown - Appears to be advertising sign not construction sign - Although creative, scale appears too large - Recommended not approved as submitted, exceeds 20 ft. by-law limitation - Signage to be removed when town issues certificate of occupancy III. Mail box, etc. Q 403 & 405 Waltham Street - -Tabled - unclear submission IV.Locke Village - Lowell Street; Gary Larson - Gary Larson presented site design 60%, development drawings 1-15 dated August 6, 1993, architectural elevations / plans by Lowe Assoc. drawings A-1 - A-7 - Reducing 72 - 62 units due to town meeting approval - John Frey suggested to regrade path to Caldors shopping mail 5% slope. Gary expresses concern of grade difference adjacent to corner of building 12'-0" Committee agreed with Gary Larson approach of ramp and four sets of steps. - John questioned infiltration tank material. Gary Larson responded engineering department presently reviewing plans. -Tom questioned side walk dead end on Lowell Street. Gary responded cross hatch will occur across Lowell Street ( traffic light) - Patio design around each building to follow. Committee strongly recommended to indicate design amenities i.e. fences, patio planting around building. -Tom also has questioned signage submittal. Gary responded signage in the design process. - Committee agreed with planting / slope embankment on Lowell Street as presented. - Exterior lights /character of small scale village with metal halides with shade baffles Architectural Comments. - Betsy questioned security at ground level - Jackie informed committee that planning board expresses concern over submission presented in terms of FAR and unit size of LexHab 2 BR units. -Tom expresses concern of length of uninterrupted ride line and lack of roof massing. -Committee requested all material i.e. planting bed, patio fences - site elements shown on drawings address issues. - Committee welcomes the opportunity to address issues - submission as condition of final approval by the Board of Appeals V 443 Marrett Road - Signage - Committee approved signage as presented Only one sign be erected at any given time VI. Emery Park - Steven Hurley reported Emery Park update next meeting with Garden Club VII Harrington Road - John Vinton informed committee VIII Edison Building - Steven Hurley submitted Boston Edison plans prepared by Janovsky / Hurley Architects, Inc. Mason & Frey. Committee comments: - Relocate trash receptacle not to compete with First House marker - Gaining benches as opposed to single benches. IXBenches - Steven Hurley suggested to table Nesting Park bench until October meeting X Harrington Road - John Vinton Steven Hurley attended Selectman meeting. Proposal one way north bound right hand turn from Bedford Street onto Harrington Road. Option two was to have Harrington Road partial two-way Selectmen requested traffic and safety comm. work together with Design Ad. Lexington Center, church, residents, and any other concerned parties. Committee recommends to remove barriers and maintain circulation around green and maintain and improve traffic safety.
