Thomas Coffman To: Committee Attendees: Kerry Brandin, Rick Bechtel, Jack Eddison, Roger Kallstrom, Steven Hurley Betsy Whitman, John Frey John Vinton, Tom Coffman 1 Minutes of last meeting were approved. 2. Board of Appeals: Minuteman Wine Shop projecting sign made a good attempt to be in keeping with the existing approved signage on their building. Color samples would be very helpfull and should be required. John Frey to write letter with these comments to the Board. 3. East Lexington: Roger Kallstrom needs to hand the work he has ( already done to someone else because of other committments at this time. He will speak with John Crowe about his interest. Roger and John Frey will continue to talk about this. Roger was thanked for his time and effort. 4. Selectmen s Forum. The selectmen want to get all committees and boards represented at a forum to discuss ongoing issues. Steve Hurley and Kerry Brandin are interested in representing the DAC. 5 Emery Park. Lance Newman, a traffic consultant, spoke at the last study group s meeting. Betsy Whitman presented highlights of that meeting. (a) Reversing the traffic direction around the park is difficult because of the queing required for the signal at Mass. Ave. and Waltham St. lb I The status of Lexpress is currently unknown and to make a decision based on its future is difficult. (c) The hope is to bring the Depot Building into the community around the park although this may be difficult. Id) Depositors Trust should be approached to discuss interest. Steve Hurley will contact the manager of the bank to see if they want to take part in the ongoing process. r � r ( 6 Sign By-Law• DAC members should review the handout and provide comments to John Frey within a week. Although wording for the warrant is complete changes can be made. 7 Benches: a general discussion locating future benches took place. John Frey noted the general consensus on his drawings. 8. Newspaper vending machines: a general discussion of the number and present and future locations took place. It was the consensus of the committee that presently the area in front of the video store and Bel Canto s looks inappropriate. Further discussion needs to take place regarding what can be done. 9 Next meeting: March 10 1992. (
