The meeting minutes from the November, 1990 meeting will be reviewed/approved at the next meeting. 2. The Boston Edison proposal to replace existing street lights with high-pressure sodium lamps was discussed.A recommendation has been made to exclude replacing the existing lights that are within the Historic Districts Area.The Board of Selectmen arR.reviewing the proposal during the next month.The committee passed a motion to write a letter to the Selectmen to express concerns regarding the use of high-pressure sodium lamps.The concerns include the quality and rendition of light, the overall `orange glow" that occurs. An alternate color-corrected lamp will be investigated as a possible suggestion.T Coffman and J Frey will prepare the letter 3. J. Eddison reports that the Design Guidelines have been received well by the Planning Board.The Town Manager intends to set up a meeting between the DPW and the consultants to review the guidelines. Issues from the public/private sector will start to become apparent. The committee should be prepared for addressing/supporting recommendations in the guidelines. 4. J. Frey is meeting with HDC to present a proposed layout for the benches in the Center Benches are shown in pairs, facing each other perpendicular to Mass.Ave.At this time two benches are being purchased. Final location will be discussed with the HDC. 5. B. Hultizer suggested that a group of individuals (DAC members and others) meet to consider street tree landscaping—improvements, new plantings, etc. —within the Center, the Battlegreen and other areas. Recommendations/issues could be presented and discussed with the DPW B. Hulizer will pursue this with the Garden Club at their next meeting and coordinate with DAC.
