• Sue Rockwell updated members on funds received from Pin sales,and pending appointments for
new membership on Committee—including Margaret Counts-Klebe for Publicity

• Web site is reaching out and growing,2000 hits in the past weeks
• Electronic media—50+facebook followers,20+twitter followers, including Merrimac Valley
Convention Bureau
• Articles contributed to website have proven to be of much interest
• Margaret Counts-Klebe—
o Spoke to importance of local print media—Lexington Minuteman,Colonial Times, etc.
o Minuteman will include insert on the 300th celebration&events 10-13 days prior to
opening weekend,with total media coverage planned
• Poster Series—Betsey Sarles,graphic artist
• Colonial Times—Article for March 17th
• Bebe Fallick,Tourism Committee,reported the Committee seeks for its Visitor's Guide to
include Lexington 300th information and general support for recognizing the 300th Anniversary
celebration.
Programs&Events
• Banners—Eric Carlson updated members on status of the Clock(Emery Park/Depot Square0,the
action of the Historic Districts Commission,opinions of the Historical Society design of the
clock base, and possible need for removal of one tree at the corner of Massachusetts Ave&Depot
Square driveway
• Banner design will be further discussed at the April meeting
• CORI—creation of policies for volunteers can avoid any need for volunteer CORI checks
o Ticket Week—May 2012—3''d week in May—resident tickets free,seek to fill all of the seats—Voted
Resident&Town Employee preference—UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED
o Costs for some events briefly discussed—
o Dance Revolution costs for Disc Jockey English Country Dance instructors,Dance Caller,
Swing Person,Custodian,etc.estimated to cost up to$10,000 for Dance Revolution. Seeking
sponsorship.
o Gala Ball—`Musket Ball'—Joyce Murphy—what percentage revenue for fundraising vs. cost?
o Expense Subcommittee—
o Colonial Times ads
o Need to more closely monitor the budgets
Events for Approval—
o Discovery Day—Coordinating Event—must recognize the 300th in the event,Tanya will submit the
proposal for the May meeting.
o Leora Tec—Republican party—NOT APPROVED
o Musket Ball—at High School Field House or other venue?
o What events should raise funds vs.cover costs?
Sale Items—
o T Shirts,note cards, flags,coloring book,history book,field guide for science curriculum,buttons,long
sleeve baseball shirts,polo shirt,posters,coasters,etc.
