Fundraising—budget requests&cost projections,Master plan for`asks' 2. Mementos—banners,other,Time capsule/Monument 3 Publicity&Communications—website,telephone message system,strategic plan for media submissions 4. Programs&Events—Committee sponsored events,Community events for approval Fundraising: • Eric Carlson provided update on banner orders,and related expenses. Eric explained intent to meet with Public Works representatives for hanging banners on the identified poles. Members further discussed possible vendors,need for quoted,preference for local business,and design ideas. Need to present plans to the Historic Districts Commission for authorization to hang banners within the Historic Districts is received. Mementos— • Lexington Flag—Eric Michelson identified possible flag vendor,flag sizes available and possible costs. Clock and Time capsules— • Clock design and possible vendor update was provided Publicity&Communications— • Website—Cheryl Meadow provided brief overview of website design,links,and content o Jessie Steigerwald addressed other content possibilities and interest in ongoing posting content Programs&Events— • Opening Ceremony,Flyover,County Fair,Evening Dance @ Lexington High School,Fashion Show,and textiles initiatives were reviewed. • Incorporation Weekend—March 2013—further need to reach out for this event • Multicultural Dance plans identified • Closing Ceremony—Jeff Leonard,LHS Music Director;Bicentennial Band,Pops Chorus,and others will perform • Mock Town Meeting—Coordinate with Lexington Public Schools,participation by League of Women Voters • Colonial Times—January 2012 events publicity component • 2012 Patriots day parade—plans for marchers to represent event themes • Gala Ball—possible involvement by Beverly Kelley Fundraising • Opportunities for sponsorships will be reflected in the 2012 Patriots Day parade • Larry Link shared further thoughts on fundraising initiatives and approaches Community Meeting scheduled for possible March date Committee reminded that actual proposals must be received and approved by Committee to be deemed an authorized event.
