it Blaisdell asked what capital expenditures had been requested, and Air
Noyes listed re.luests received to date.
Fire Depaxtunent — 1960 Ladder Truck ;s3S,000 Mr Noyes said that C.E.C. felt
that this sho:_lu ne replaced. it ha, been pushed off last year, was 15 years
old, an, in need of extensive repairs
1961 Fire Station was proposed. C.E.0 is not in favor of
this;, thertacre no capital expenJtures 1961.

lost by Worthen Road had been incluced i. both Ree. Coati, and P ':i' D. 's requests,
and that the Selectmen are now reconsidering Rec.Committee' s proposals.
The selectmen think they would rater fix leak in ice rank than build new one.

replacement. It was generally thought that this ,Das maintenance or for
servicing new areas whereas the C.D. 44000 would be for improving the present

Rescue Service Truek proposed for 1962. The selectmen agree that
we should have one some time and: that this should be in the hc.$ds of fire
department. They are not in favor of it for 1962. No decision was reached
by Appron. and C.L. committees because no cost is yet available and no
explanatioi of need has yet been given

five year plan. No planning has been done except that pre should spend a

the Planning Board about this.
Sunury Streets - $200,000 proposed. This is 475,000 higher
than last year This is typical of whole P E. budget because there have been
many requests
Future years - 4300,000 pes year proposed, no breakdo*n given
Sewers - 1960 Watertown St. is up 435,000
Justin St. is moved up one year No answer as to
,whether trunk is under 128 already (Mr Snow has since said that Mr Barna
put a line under 128 when it was built; this should be rathea inexpensive to
add to when state is wiaening 128)
kr Richards says that 58% of buildings have sewers
available, and there is some difiicultg around Arlington area because MDC
sewer trunks are not big enough to take more sewage This may force Lex.
to slow sewer installations. He feels it is good economy to force developers
to tae in by making trunks available.
Mr Blaisdell mentioned that sewer proposals totalled

Mr Paterson thought that Belmont had paid 4300 ,000 fo theirs.
