Present. Selectmen& Alan Adams, Ruth Morey (late) , Wm. u-:aloney, R. James,
and G. Ferguson, Liss lurray, secretary.
C.E.C. — J. :oyes, R. tioodberry, K. Warden and h. Souza, secretary.
r. Noyes read the budgets which had been submitoeu to the Capital Expend.
Committee up to this time in order to find out from the Selectmen which
items they intended to recommend to :,own meeting and which items mint be
expected to oe iacluued in the warrant either with or without the Selectmen's
recommendation.
FIRE DEPARTMENT — New Fire Station proposed for 1961 This was not recommended
last yea: by either selectmen or C E.C. The selectmen do not approve of this,
_r Maloney* because he feels that mutual aid with 'r+alt..en should cover the
area, lar. Adams because of laca of knowledge of what the National Park may
mean to Lexington so far as location of this station is concerned. The
selectmen felt that putting this item in the "Future" category would be best.
Drill Tower — selectmen suggest "Future" for this too
Lac..er Truck — Selectmen were not sure this was needed.
They approved of the idea (inxihmxag) of setting up a fund fur depreciation
of fire eaul. ment ind suggested its inclusion in C E.B. report.
CIyIL. DEij IL3E - Their letter of Nov. 20 included two requests.
Town fire ,Dam system is not adequate because it cannot
be heard throughout town. They prppose to improve this in 1961 for 44,000
The selectmen go along wit:v this.
Rescue Service truck is proposed for 1961 — no cost given.
Mr. Noyes asked whether tAis mi _it not be garaged by Fire Department and
whether it might not be available for i' D' s use The selectmen safrd that
this was the plan; that, buyiag it irons Civil Defense funds would mean that
the fede.a1 -'overnaent would pay 50)o. They suggest "Future" for this.
ASSESSORS — ;.'own Atlas, 35 to50,000. Selectmen feel they can do
without this.
REC'laATION Cit,', , ITTEE — The items for 1960 are largely in P W. budget.

and resubmit it to us. It is the duty of the Rec. Comm.
