The Minutes of 3/10 /93 were approved
Met State Property
Statement on need for fair housing
Continuing with the discussion on fair housing need from the
previous meeting, a clarification of the Town' s affordable
housing goal had been obtained from Bob Bowyer, Director of
Planning Statement was reviewed
Strategy
Mary reported on meetings she had attended
3/12 Lexington Met State Task Force
( The members seemed more concerned about aesthetics
than density
Leo McSweeney urged united front from interest
groups backing low and moderate income housing
Alliance for the Mentally Ill members expressed
interest in being part of coalition
Jacquie Davison said there was an historic
commitment to housing for the mentally ill
4/12 Met State Task Force (attended with Gerri)
The Mayor of Waltham stressed colpromise
MDC wanted most of land including administration
building, garage, power plant; energetic approach
David Dixon of DCPO interested in elderly and
special needs housing; they would not generate
much traffic
MAPC said that Gaebler would be least useful for
housing

Bottom line 300 units over five years
Large turnout of Waltham groups (were not
introduced by name) , no doubt because meeting was
held in Waltham
Agreed upon strategy get Lexington groups to agree on low
and moderate income housing priority Meetings scheduled to
date with Lexington Housing Authority LexHab and Loxes gtcn
Met State Task Force
