Minutes of 4/8/92
The Minutes of 4/8/92 were approved
Bill Spencer, resignation
Bill Spencer announced his resignation after serving many years
as a member of the Fair Housing Committee Everyone expressed
their appreciation for his valuable service to the Committee
Americans with Disabilities Act Forum
Steve reported that there would be a public forum on the
Americans with Disabilities Act on June 2nd He noted that the
Act afforded an additional opportunity to promote diversity
Diversity Training
Steve reported that he was pursuing the process of seeking Town
employee diversity training through the Town' s Employee
Assistance Program Committee
Hate Crimes
It was agreed that an invitation should be extended through the
Chief of Police to those police officers who had been the targets
of expressions of hatred through graffiti markings This was in
the tradition of the Committee being available to victims of
discrimination
Steve distributed curriculum materials made available by Judith
McCloskey, Co-Chairperson, Metco Advisory Committee Ms
McCloskey will be invited to the next meeting at which time a
videotape entitled "A Dream on Fire" will be shown
Town Reaction to the LA Verdict
Gerri Weathers said that she had received four calls on the LA
verdict Debby Radway and Rev David Meyer had also talked with
concerned citizens Earlier in the day (May 13) there had been a
voluntary meeting at the high school attended by approximately
300 students

Gerri said that she was impressed by the Bedford response She
had attended the meeting there which was also covered by Irene
Graviny Bedford has recently established an Affirmative Action
Monituring Committee
Brochure
Steve took pictures of members present for the brochure for
potential Lexington homeowners announced that the Lexington
Savings Bank would pick up the printing costs
