Affordable Housing reports
Pine Meadows Site Development Committee Report
Leona reported that Gary Larsen' s study revealed a high
water table in the area necessitating fill The
neighborhood preferred 20 units although apparently not
enthusiastic about having any units The Site
Development Committee recommended 40 affordable rental
units to be in part financed by lot sales The sale
price for lots had been originally estimated at
$200, 000 per lot, but the water level problem meant
that they would be sold for considerably less
Estimated building costs are $80 per square foot for
market rate housing, and $65 per square foot for
affordable units
Options and Goals Committee Report
A public meeting to be held before Thanksgiving was to
discuss 30 different techniques to implement affordable
housing and their usefulness for Lexington The
Committee' s goal is to have a report ready for the
March Town Meeting, and it will propose scattered,
rather than concentrated, sites
