demographics, coaching, multilingual learners, and
more - LinkIt! has been selected. Program will be
used K-12 which will allow continuity through LPS
school systems. Integrates with google for ease of
calendaring, email notifications for example. Robust
system covers literacy, math, counciling, and more.
Melissa asked about data security protections given
sensitivity of information included. Rory reviewed
security of the site and key questions included in the
RFP. Program will import historic data.
Reviewed creation of physical "data wall' under the
Multi Tiered System of Support umbrella.
Physical/visual representation will allow better
visibility into clusters of performance, create more
dialogue, and an opportunity to celebrate upward
movement.
Beginning in the 2024/2025 school year, student
interventions will be able to happen earlier as data is
better transferred into the new school year. Discussed
increasing data team meetings from 30 minutes to 1
hour and decreasing frequency from weekly to
biweekly.
Specials will be called Other Academic Programs
(OAPs) moving forward. Health will now be built into
that OAP schedule every other week for 30 minutes,
no other planned changes.
Ongoing discussion of 4th/5th grade Performing Arts
program scheduling to ensure equity of instruction.
Current approach is students are pulled out of
classroom once a week which creates a challenge for
instruction.
Updating Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS)
to continue to teach students what expected
behaviors look like across all settings. New elements
will be considered such a cell phone use which is
prohibited.
Exploring a way to share Hawks Nest (school
newspaper) with the school community more broadly.
Discussion on culturally responsive practices in
teaching and ongoing training/education support
needed for staff. Jackie shared "pineappling" which is
a practice of ongoing exposure for teachers to visit
different classroom settings to encourage sharing of
ideas and more dialogue to share out new ideas.
While co-teaching is not in the plan for the
foreseeable future due to budget constraints, there
will be ongoing discussion to facilitate more sharing
across classrooms, for example in small group work
within a grade.
New business: Please email Jackie if there are any new things
Future Dates: to be discussed at the next meeting.
October 2024 Date TBD
Melissa motioned to close the meeting, Liz
seconded. All approved.
