Commissioner Absent: Associate Commissioners Present: Richard Neumeier, Brien Cooper. Associate Commissioner Absent: Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy called the September 26, 2024 Historic Districts Commission meeting to order at 6:04pm. CONTINUED HEARING Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the continued hearing for 1884 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior alterations (Monument) in the Battle Green Historic District Documents HDC Site Walk Notes: dated September 23, 2024 Updated Plans: dated September 26, 2024 The architects and designers explained the proposed updated monument plans to 1884 Mass Ave. The Commission reviewed the site visit reports prepared by Dan Hisel. Dan Hisel and Richard Neumeier th have been served as liaisons for this application and visited the site on September 9, 2024. The Commission reviewed the proposed plans and agreed to continue this hearing to October-10-2024 HDC meeting with hardscape and landscape plans. David Pinsonneault, Director of DPW, stated they will work on the accessibility and the usability of the site. Sheldon Baker, 7 Trotting Horse Dr, Dawn McKenna, 9 Hancock St, Bebe Fallick, 4 Diehl Rd, and Jessie Steigerwald, 143 Cedar St expressed their concerns regarding this proposed monument. Matthew Siegal, Executive Director of Lexington Arts and Craft Society, expressed his support to this proposed monument. Historic Districts Commission 1 / 2 Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy made a motion to continue this hearing to October-10-2024 HDC meeting. Seconded by Edward Adelman. Roll Call Vote: Edward Adelman – Yes, Lee Noel Chase – Yes, Dan Hisel – No, Robin Lovett – Yes, Brien Cooper – Yes, Richard Neumeier – Yes, Paul O’Shaughnessy – Yes. Motion Carried. All in favor. Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the continued hearing for 15 Meriam Street, exterior alterations (Chimney Demolition and Balcony Railing and Post Replacement) in the Battle Green Historic District Documents Updated plans for Balcony Railing and post replacement: dated September 26, 2024 The homeowner explained the proposed balcony railing and post replacement plans for the structure at 15 Meriam Street. Dan Hisel will serve as the liaison to review the proposed balcony railing and post replacement plans. The Commission agreed to continue this hearing to October HDC meeting.
