Mr. Hill came before the Board and explained that some changes
had been made in the original intentions of the exercises of the
presentation of the Silver Service. He stated that owing to the duty
of the men on board ship it would not be convenient for the school
children to have a separate day to see the ship, and therefor all the
residents of Lexington including the children will have to go on
Saturday, January 28, 1928, from 2 to 4 P M. if they desire to see the
ship. It was found that the afternoon tea would have to be eliminated,
but after the closing time the Selectmen and their wives and perhaps
the Committee would congregate in the Captain' s room.
In regard to the tickets he stated that he would be willing to
have them printed together with fifty posters to be circulated. The
Board agreed to pay the bill for the printing.
A delegation of four men headed by Mr. o J. Henrich, representing
the Lexington Civic Association, came before the Board in regard to
widening Bow Street . They felt that something should be done about
the widening of this street from its junction with Mass. Avenue to
the other side of the railroad track inasmuch as this is the entrance
to a largely developed territory.
The Chairman reminded Mr. Henrich that this matter had been before
the County Commissioners for a hearing, and that was the last action
taken except for the fact that the Appropriation Committee did not
approve of expenditure of money for the widening.
In this connection the Clerk was instructed to secure the plan
of the Wilbur property beyond the railroad track and alsocopy of the
plan filed with -the County Commissioners showing the proposed widen-
ing for the information of the Board.

putting in shrubs estimated by Mr. Emery was $175.00 making a total
