Ron Wells discussed next year's budget 83-84 with members Ideas were put to use on how money will be spent such as Education Night, Mailing Cosots, Youth Awards More unput on Budget will be discussed at next meeting Ron will also talk with the youth who went on the Outward. Bound trip about his experiences, and if he can share them with the public A note to businesses about his personal experiences would be a way of thanking people for their donation Ron f will give answer to this in October Julie gave a report on how the Walkathon is doing Minuteman newspaper did a story, and the high school is busy selling raffle tickets P T.A Council will also mention this in newsletter ^�. _Fon Wells. spoke to Mr Hutchinson aboutanother adult member to our committee Bob will be looking into this matter He has appointed Dan Murphy as the member under 21 years old Dan has shown interest, and by coming to our meeting, has accepted to be part of our committee Welcome aboard Danny' Open discussion was then on many activities coming up in Lexington Mainly the Friday night football game using portable lights Ron Marble and Amy will report back to us next meeting how this went, and how public enjoyed this Ron Marble will also be seeing Dick Kirk at Hayden and get input on Hayden's activities for the different age groups in Lexington Dick will also be asked to come to our next October 5 meeting by Ron One program then LYC is looking into will be alcohol abuse-suicide A project students John McGirr, Ron Wells, Bea and Nancy will look into Parents would be definitely encouraged to come if program can be carried through .ancy went to the Selectmen's breakfast and gave a brief report She went over last year's activities with them, and mentioned some of this year's goals Also mentioned to Recreation and Human Services to come to one of our meetings this year_ Better communication amongst each committee can be helpful to each other Also Nancy mentioned after talking with Mr Hutchinson she along with him would like to see a Student Government Day Bob saw this done in Commecticut where he formerly came from, and it ran very successfully John McGirr offered to check in with Jane Peidlock at the High School and see if this project can be done, pros and cons, and get back to Committee next meeting on data Ron Wells brought up the program Junior Achievement" and discussed program briefly He will get in touch with consultant on this and give invitation from LYC for sometime in October (Oct. 19th) and more input can be given on Junior Achievement Nominations were made to Board Ron Wells accepted nomination as Chairperson for second year Nancy Barter as Secretary Motion was made and seconded and voted Good luck to a successful year Ron' John McGirr and Ron Marble accepted to work with Youth Awards again this year Next Agenda October 5, 7 30 pm at Nancy Barter's 1 Football Game - Ron Marble 2 Hayden - Ron Marble 3 Student Government Day - John and Nancy 4 Project at School - alcohol/suicide - John and Amy 5 Ideas on Budget 83-84 - everyone Meeting adjourned at 9 15 pm Respectfully submitted, Nancy L.
