Leo McCabe, Martin K. White and Robert Hutchinson Absent. George
Harris and Donald Giller
Chairman Al Busa called the meeting to order at 8 00 P M. The first order of
business was to elect a Vice Chairman Al Busa nominated George Harris and
he was unanimously elected
The Chairman then introduced Paul Blanchard, Architect who put together the
Lexington Housing Authority's proposal for Muzzey He explained that they
looked at the existing building and the additions to determine if it would be
practical for a mixed use As explained in the proposal which was distributed
to all members of the Committee, the architects feel this building could be
used for Elderly Services as well as mixed housing They feel the auditorium
should remain as it would be costly to renovate or change As always, the
biggest problem is funding It was suggested that the building be turned over
to LHA so that they could apply for funding to study the possible uses LHA
must have temporary possession of the building in order to apply for funding
Bill Spencer explained that the COA had been consulted regarding this proposal
George Harris had distributed a proposal from COA, but since he was absent and
no other member of COA was available, it was decided to postpone discussion of
that information until the next meeting
The next meeting will be held in the Selectmen's Room with the Planning Director
and the Planning Board. It was also decided to hold a Neighborhood Meeting in
Estabrook Hall on October 28, 1981
