REGULAR MEETING, AUGUST 30, 1927.

A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at the '
Selectmen's Office at 7.30 P.M. Messrs. Uustance, Burnham, Ballard,
Robertson, and Chamberlain were present. The Supt, of rublic Works
and the Clerk were also present.
The records of last meeting were approved with the exception
of one correction, namely, the construction of Waltham Street from
Middle Street to Allen Street instead of Allen Street to Concord Avenue,
Bids on the Revenue Loan of $100,000, were received from the
t*llowing:.
Atlantic gational Bank 3.575
Bank of Commerce.& Trust 3.675
Old Colony Trust Co. 3.595
Lexington Trust Co. 3.549
The bid was awarded to the lowest bidder, the Lexington Trust
Company.
The Board signed the application of Elwyn U.Preston and others
for incorporation under Chapter 180 of the General Laws, as amended
by Chapter 379, Acts of 1926, under the name Massachusetts Bay
Tercentenary, Inc., so far as the a pplieation relates to the character
of Mr. ireston.
Report of the Town Engineer was received on the Block Plan in
which he made recommendations in addition to the specifications drawn
up by Richard F. Lufkin. He also recmmmended the employment of
Everett N. Montague of West Acton, inasmuch as his price for the work
was to be the most reasonable, and he felt that the personal attention
that Mr. Montague would give would be of value.
After discussing the matter it was left to the Chairman to talk
with Mr. Montague and secure from him a more definite specification
as to what he would give for a definite sum, and as to what plans
would be completed for that sum.
Location order to set one pole and remove one pole on Mass.
Avenue near the Baptist Church was granted to the Edison Electric
Ill. Co.
The Plan of the lots of the entire Robbins & Smith property in
the section of Locust Avenue was before the Board. It was left with
the Chairman to see if he could complete arrangements so tlh.ati.the
detail plans could be filed by Robbins & Smith.
Letter was received from Neil McIntosh in which he enclosed deed
of the property at the corner of Waltham and Middle Streets which wax
deeded to Ida H. B. Capper, and plan showing the location of the ditch
which Mrs. Capper questioned the right of the Town to enter upon.
Mr. McIntosh explained that prior to the building of Waltham Street
that this ditch was used for drainage, and that when the street was
built under the road was taken care of at that time. No action was
taken on thin -matter.
