Barnes adjacent to the lot occupied by the Isaac 3rris Cary iemorial Building. Dr. Barnes has been refused a permit to erect c fi1!in= station on this lot by the Selectmen, and r',ttorney Vahey brings the cuestion before them as to whether a blo& of stores built close to the street line tirould be more unsightly than a filling station set back at least fifty feet from the 70 street. Attorney Vs.hey also enclosed a. letter from P.,obert P. Clapp in Eich Llr. Clapp ex pre.~c,ed the opinion thct C, filling station v.ould be more sightly than s block of stores. A pbtition was received by the Board signed by some of the residents of the torn aslLing that something be done to safeguard the public against deaths similar to the death of James C.
