Cust�.-nce, Burnham, Ballard, and Roberts -n were present. The Supt. of Public Works and the Clerk were present also. The records were approved with the exception of two corrections, which were made. It was decided to increase the charge for Common Victuallers, Sunday Sales, and Innholders Licenses from x2.00 to :5.00, same deo be effective as of April 30, 1927 when the new license's go into effect. It was called to the Boards attention that Mrs. Sarah Bowman VanNess of 52 Pleasant Street is in a bad mental condition. She continually calls the Police Department several times during the night. She has therefor made herself a nuisance, and the Chairman ttas requested to find out who her relatives were so that someone could care for her. In regard to the matter of building line on Mass. Avenue Jfrom the 'Town Hall to Hancock Street, Mr. Ballard offered to make a report on same in sixty days. The clerk w4s requested to find out whother the American Employers' Insurance Company or any bonding; comprny would issue a bond guaranteeing cost of extension of water mains. It was also suggested that when the Water Department give an estimate of the cost of extending water mins and the amount of the guarantee to be paid that this estimate be signed by the petitioner in duplicate, one copy to be handed to the petitioner and the other to be retained at the office. This will perhaps eliminate th( possibility of mis- understanding. In reply to the letter of Frederick L. Emery relative to the use by the Tonrn of the l,.nd of the Boston & Maine Railroad for the storage of pipe for the Water Department, the Board replied that although a contribution of 1;3,000. i^.gas made by citizens of the town to the Boston & Maine Railroad for the purchase of this property and removing the coal yard and President Tuttle of the Boston & Maine R. R. replied to Mr. Emery under date of March 31, 1910 that this land was not to be sold or leased for business purposes, but would be retained for requirements of his company, the deed of the property from Warren A. and Walter H. Pierce of Arlington and Frank Peabody of Lexington did not contain any statement relative to the use of the land. The Board replied therefor to qtr. Emery informing him that inasmuch as this deed did not contain a restriction relative to the use of the land that the town proposed to use it for the storage of pipe until such time as a permanent location fora municipal yard can be secured.
