Mr. Robbat, a teacher from "LHS, came to speak to the C'om-
mission about a letter he received from the Easter Seal 'society,.
The Easter Seal Society would: like a group of youth to compile
a list of facilities for the handicapped in Lexington and Concord.
Mr. Robbat also told the Commission about a Youth Conference
which was held on December 8; 1974 in Ashland,Mase. The purpose
of the conference was to inform youth of the services of the
Easter Seal Society. It was decided that the Youth Commission
would offer the task of compiling the list of facilities to the
Student Government at the high school. The Student Government
has agreed to do this and has formed a subcommittee for this
purpose.
As far as the Bicentennial plans, Mr. Fontes at the high
school Will be coaching the boy' s Bicentennial soccer team.
Concord is also establishing a boy' s soccer team and the two
teams will play on Youth Day. A girl 's team is yet to be estab-
lished. The most tentative plans so far for Youth Day are a
bicycle tour along historical routes, a colonial crafts fair,
a puppet show for little kids and a youth dinner.
The Youth Directory will be published in the form of a
supplement to the Lexington Minute-man. The cost will be
approximately one fourth of the cost of publishing a booklet
similar to the one published. in 1972.
The next meeting of the Youth Commission will be on Thursday,
January 9 , 1975 at 7 :15 in Rm. G15, Town Office Building.
