Chris Anderson has recieved a letter from the Board of Select- men stating that they willLbe unable to finance the Youth Commission publish 12 000 oopies of the revised Youth with the $132 neededito Directory unless the commission can demonstrate a definite need for this expense. In response to the letter, Steve Politi proposed that a letter be sent to the Selectmen stating that there is a defin- ite need for the booklet, and requesting that the Selectmen allot for us the $1432 upon the assumption that the Commission will try to finance the directory through outside sources as much as possible. This proposal was rejected in the discussion which followed. It was agreed by the Commission that there is a need for the Youth Directory, but we discussed the possibility of publishing it in a more economical form. Chris Anderson will be looking into the suggestion of printing the booklet in the Minuteman, either as part of the text or a separate tabloid section. It was also suggested that the directory could be put in the bank of the Town Report. The booklet itself could be reduced from its present length,.of 32 pages. Or the number of booklets printed could be cut down. Plans for the Bicentennial Youth; Day were discussed. Some of the suggestions mere a soccer match between Concord and Lexington youth, a bicycle rice (along the route of Paul Revere's ride?) , a concert and a Youth Picnic. Mr. Robbat, the LBC co-ordinator at the High School, will be invited to the next meeting. The Youth Calendar of Events has; been established in the Lexington Minuteman and Youth organizations in the town have been informed of its existence through a letter sent by the Youth Commission. The next meeting of the Commission will be held Thursday, Decem.1 ber 5, 1974 in G15 of the Town Office Building at 7:15,
